• Cut-off fire dampers of the mcr FID PRO type with the thermal release unit are designed to be used in general ventilation systems where these systems run through building partitions (mcr FID PRO/S designation). In the event of fire, these dampers enable the partition, through which ventilation and air-conditioning ducts run, to retain its fire resistance properties. In normal operating conditions the damper’s screen is open. If fire breaks out, the damper’s screen closes.
• Dampers of the mcr FID PRO types can be manufactured without the thermal release unit. They are used in fire ventilation systems (mcr FID PRO/V designation). In normal operating conditions, the damper’s screen is closed. In the event of fire the screen opens, therefore smoke and fire gases can flow through the device.
• Fire cut-off dampers of the mcr FID PRO type are also designed to be used in systems in which ventilation ducts perform two functions: the functions of a general ventilation system as well as a smoke exhaust system; at points where these systems run through building partitions (mcr FID PRO designation). In normal operating conditions the damper’s screen is open. In the event of fire, it remains open or closes, depending on the fire-tackling manner. These dampers are not fitted with thermal releases.
